    If so, buy GoldenEye.
I haven't played a FPS in forever. The original GoldenEye may be the last time I've played one againist other people. I just figured it was time for a change of pace, I'm one mission away from finishing the Prophecies campaign in GuildWars, and the Halloween Celebration last night was a little too creepy.

Not completely sure about the moon. I thought it was a little odd the GM gave out cat ears for logging in on Halloween and playing a game of Simon Says.

I finally, beat the last GuildWars storyline mission. There is one quest left, but its impossible to do solo without the resources in the other GuildWars releases. I would have been pissed if I didn't already own those. But still, I'm shelving GuildWars for a little while before I start diving into Factions. Got to spend some time on the PS3. Had 4 days off and went through the entire PSN store finding whatever I could that was free; anyone else know they have a gameshow to become a tester?
Going to fire up Playstation@Home tonight, haven't been in there for months, to see if its worth wasting any time on yet.

  4. #904
Alright, Playstation@Home is still a crap-pile disaster. However I did find this TVish reality show on their marketplace that Sony does. Called Tester. Free to download and each episode is about 20 to 25 minutes long, no commercials. Its a lot better than I was expecting, interesting to watch a show that I can understand the concept behind (games!). At the very least, compared to the other reality shows, Tester shows gamers aren't all backstabbing attention whores.

I just wrpped up FarCry 2 for the second time (I did it on Infamous this time). Environmental damage really adds a lot to the gameplay. Start a fire and you better be damn sure you are upwind.

What's next? Duke Nukem Forever and Crysis 2. Really, I have to wait till at least March 2011 to play a new game? I guess I could play Grand Theft Auto but the graphics aren't very impressive.

Or you could play Halo Reach or Mario Galaxy 2 or Minecraft or ect. ect.

It's not hard to find really, really good games right now.

For PC? Actually I'm somewhat of a snob with gaming. My roommate is playing Fallout: New Vegas and I am not at all impressed with the graphics.

I probably do limit myself too much. I tend to prefer first person to third, although Max Pain was very good. Isn't Starcraft just another variation on Civilization? I mean you never get in the action yourself, right? You just direct the action of your minions?

Kinda, but it's still really different.

Civilization is turn based, I.E take an action, then the A.I takes an action, repeat.

Starcraft is real time, meaning that while you're ordering your minions to mine, kill or what have you, your opponent is doing the same, which makes it more hectic than Civilization.

Are there any new puzzle quests like 7th Guest? I heard there was a sequel.

I started playing the demo and realized it is not for me. I'm looking for more interaction even if it's just AI.

I don't know if you've played these, but you should take a look at them if you haven't.

I've been playing Black Ops for the last week, done half of the single player levels, none of the zombie mode but the majority of my time on multiplayer. Absolutely loving it at the moment, MP is proving to be alot of fun especially with the level of customisation.

I've just finished Fallout New Vegas. It's the first Fallout game I've played and overall I'm pretty impressed with it.

The look and feel of the game is very good. You're in this post apocalyptic world about 200 years in the future however all the houses, buildings, posters, characters around you look like they've been taken right from the 1950s - even down to the design of the robots.

Some of the NPCs in the game are great, one of my favourites is a super mutant called Lilly. Some of these characters will ask to tag along with you (you can only bring one at a time) through the campaign so you can use them for extra firepower and to carry things you plan to sell later.

I did find the game to be quite buggy with my Xbox freezing on occasion and a few instances where I've been stuck in the map. However, for the sheer scale of the game I'm not too bothered about this.

I got a solid 44 hours of gameplay out of this before completing it, and if I wanted I could go back and complete it in a number of different ways too. It's a massive game. 8/10 from me.
All those moments lost in time... like tears in the rain

Age of Empires III (with expansions) is currently 10 cents over at Games for Windows. They had some pretty sweet deals every day since the redesign but 10 cents is just ridiculous.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (PS3) - so far it's a nice continuation of the last game...
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way...

    Me too!
Shocking that they were able to do this with a mere year of development time, pretty much every aspect has been added onto and/or enchanced.
Already spent more time with this one than the second one, and barely scratched the surface.

Multiplayer is the most refreshingly unique thing I've played in awhile too.
Nice to see an online mode that rewards careful planning, and hearing the COD kiddies cry because your stealth kills are worth four or five times the points as theirs, because they are running around like headless chickens, never gets old.

    Just two more days! HNNNNNNG!

Gran Turismo 5 is most definitely the next quantum leap in terms of graphics since Crysis.
Tomorrow is like an empty canvas that extends endlessly, what should I sketch on it?

There is a reason they call is Assassin's Creed 2.5 It was developed along side of Assassin's Creed 2. Only small tweaks were needed based on player feedback.

  26. #926
Trust me, nothing small about the tweaks here.
They improved literally everything about the game, and added a shit-ton of new stuff to boot, not even counting multi-player.
Heard the 2.5 thing too, meh...I can see that view from a story standpoint.
(Though the AC2 part 2 is more apt, as 2.5 insinuates it's less than the previous one, which it's not.)

I'm certain you're right about some being developed in tandem, especially the city of Rome itself.
    It is fraking huuuge.

  27. #927
Are you finding it incredibly easy, even moreso than AC2?

  28. #928
    Combat-wise, yes.
AC has always been rather easy in that regard...adding the brotherhood and the chain combos has made it even more so, even despite the AI being much more aggressive now.
I usually put self restrictions on myself though...all stealth, no open fighting if possible, etc.

On the other hand, some of the missions that require no detection or you desynch (particularly the beginning portions of the war machine missions) have been harder, which is refreshing.

    But yeah, pretty easy.
    Still fun though.

EDIT: Oh forgot. All the missions have specific challenges too, so that adds some difficulty if you want to get the 100% completion. Assassinating Target X is easy...doing it with a specific weapon, or without being seen is tougher.
It's one of the many nice touches added to the game.

Over the holiday I played digital Scrabble for the first time in ages, on my kid's fancy phone. Alternated between sucking (because the phone was tinier than a full keyboard) and semi-sucking (because the app wasn't using an official Scrabble dictionary) and super-sucking (because he was playing against his dad).

I ended up being totally petty by helping my kid learn how to beat his own father. I taught him how to make double and triple words for points, and how to open up the board for future words. Strategy.

It was petty, because they were texting each other while apart on a holiday.
