Beat my high score tonight, I bowled a 163. My previous best was 140. I changed my technique a bit, instead of paying attention to the arrows on the lane I just look straight at the pins and let instinct do the work.

    My wife's sister is visiting.

That actually looks kind of bad when I see it in writing, but it wasn't meant that way.

Enviro Logs. They're great. 100% waxed and chipped cardboard formed logs, wrapped in brown paper as kindling. No odor like a Duraflame and no creosote build-up. No worries about firewood that isn't seasoned, or soft wood or wet wood mixed in a cord, that smokes without burning well. No insects, rot or mildew.

    Pff.

Surely half the fun of an open fire is the crackling and smoking wet bits and impurities and knots in the wood and smells and insects that go pop when they burn.

Shirley, those things can come with termites, and coat chimneys with creosote. Chimney sweeps every year? I don't think so.

I used to buy a whole cord of wood, but had to stack it myself. If I didn't burn the whole thing in one winter, it turned into a slowly rotting mess where rodents would hide and spiders would nest. And we're in a termite hot zone, so screw that.

But I still burn branches from fallen trees, they do smell nice and crackle and spit.

I actually am familiar with Basement Jaxx! I love the song "Good Luck" after watching this AMV.

Only video where I've thought "hey, YouTube sound isn't that bad".
Tomorrow is like an empty canvas that extends endlessly, what should I sketch on it?

Sound is not so good here, but hey, it shows the orchestra. This song was pretty close to the original, some were drastically altered.

For a more.. changed version of their music (I did not like this version that much, but there's not too much one can find online of this show, especially with non-horrible quality):

Also parts without the singers which were pretty cool, this was the intro (and gave me the chills):

Keep on keepin' the beat alive!

I'm home, inside where it isn't snowing, warm, have a full belly and all necessities! The tiny little drug store here actually had most of my meds in stock. The 2 they didn't have are vitally important tho, so the pharmacy tech drove 57 miles, 1 way, to get me pills, and I have to muddle thru with the liquid/syringe insulin because they didn't have the pens. All in all, I have things set up so I don't have to go out of the house again until Thursday! Thats great because it's supposed to/is snowing really hard, the wind is blowing insanely hard, and the temps are suppose to drop dramatically in the next 24 hours!

    G'day Senor Gogo,

On behalf of the folks from TWF.com - We would love to know where you are? How you are doing? Oh and why have you forgotten about us?

I gather you've been breeding but we would love an update! Make Mr Lor & Co happy and post more.

I count only 4 of us now left flying the flag for Britain now since you and Decoy have left us.

We are not asking for much!

    - Steve (Lor)
    This email made me happy

    Thanks, Lor!

I'm very well thanks, and no, I haven't forgotten about this place. I occasionally take a quick peak to see what's been going on, but generally speaking I've just been too busy at work to continue flying the flag for the "Bored at Work Brigade"; which is a real shame because I miss you guys

Oh wow, and I miss this smiley:

    I love that guy.

I haven't been "breeding", per se - we've still only the one rug rat and, crazy as it seems to me, she's 2 today! I saw Decoy's post (Hi Decoy, btw - cute kiddo, congrats on the wedding!) and thought I better bore you all with more baby pics.

So this is baby Gogo now, all growing up:

One of my new year's resolutions was to waste away more of my frittering life in this stupid place, with you charming people; so now that I've joined a gym, started making sammiches every day for work, cut down all the crap in my garden and quit World of Warcraft..........wait, no, forget the last one, my priority now is to try and get back to this place for a while.

Hope you're all well, peeps. Please accept a virtual high five from me (or a virtual slap on the tush, whatever's your fancy).

    Peace out!

    Gogo.

  22. #2212
Gogo! And Babypop, too! Happy birthday to her.

I'll take the virtual slap on the tush, if you don't mind.

Found out yesterday that the man who was refusing to pay me was slightly confused about the situation. Talked with his son who explained that the plumber, who's work had caused the mess in the first place told him the work was covered under warranty. Left out the part about his work was, not mine. The son then explained that the plumbing company would be paying for all the repairs and I would receive payment within a few days. I was so happy to hear that I didn't have to file a lien on the old guy.
Edit: I mean the old guy's property, not the old guy personally.

My mother has until this Friday to decide whether she wants to become the boss of her workplace

Told her it's a bit hard to say no to that kind of proposal and she agreed
In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

    awww! Sweet kid, gogo!

I almost got my kitchen cleaned up. Now I just have to rearrange my living room so the cable guy can get to the the place where the cable runs in. Then, next week, I can go get my big TV out of storage and get it set up, along with my little one in the living room. I will have cable TV by noon tomorrow!
