Thread: Is the TSA fascist?

    Default Is the TSA fascist?

Note: such crapage isn't exclusive among the TSA. You'll find foreign airport security screeners do this too, but not sure if it's codified.

    Excerpt:
Washington (CNN) -- Don't like the way airport screeners are doing their job? You might not want to complain too much while standing in line.
Arrogant complaining about airport security is one indicator Transportation Security Administration officers consider when looking for possible criminals and terrorists, CNN has learned exclusively. And, when combined with other behavioral indicators, it could result in a traveler facing additional scrutiny.
CNN has obtained a list of roughly 70 "behavioral indicators" that TSA behavior detection officers use to identify potentially "high risk" passengers at the nation's airports.
Many of the indicators, as characterized in open government reports, are behaviors and appearances that may be indicative of stress, fear or deception. None of them, as the TSA has long said, refer to or suggest race, religion or ethnicity.
I'm sure there has been at least one case where someone complaining about airport security was either a criminal or a terrorist.

I am always extremely neutral and correct while going through security at any airport.
    Congratulations America

In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.

People debate what fascism means because almost everyone agrees fascism (whatever it is) is bad.

I like to view it as state control over people. In that sense increased TSA intrusion, which includes specific targeting of people complaining about its policies would an example of a fascist action.

That's due to historical reasons rather than actually thinking about it, in a majority of cases.

Taken liberally (heh) enough, that'd mean all policemen, prisons and churches were fascist. If you dilute the definition far enough, the word becomes meaningless. Personally I find it far more interesting to research which churches actually supported fascism, which faction of it and why, for example, rather than out-right calling all religion fascist. And further, I find it more interesting to try and research what active participants of fascism thought about their reasoning on the traditional left-right axis, and so on, rather than calling fascism extreme left or extreme right just to score points in a discussion on current affairs.

To me, it's a combination of state-control combined with the violent stifling of dissenting speech and actions.
