Awww, sweet kitty with pink nose and mouth! Are her eyes grey or green? :kittenlove:

Wicked looking skies, even on that suck-ass cell phone camera of yours, munchie.

Her eyes are kind of a greenish-grey. Very pretty and very expressive. I just love her little pink nose and lips. That nose wakes me up most mornings, sniffing around my face to see if I'm awake yet! haha Who could sleep thru that?

Yeah, we have had some pretty severe storms here lately. These clouds just kinda scooted by with no action, altho there was some lightening off to the north, and a couple drops of rain. I just thought these clouds looked pretty cool. Sorry my phone camera sucks so bad! Next time I see a cool cloud, I'm gonna call The Kid and have him take some pics for me to post!

    Ha ha, that's ace.
The light that once I thought compassion still casting shadows in your action
The words you shared were cold transactions that bring me to curse what you've done
When you're up there absorbed in greatness with such success you've grown complacent
I hope you scorch your many faces when you fly too close to the sun

Pinto has discovered that maybe, just maybe, the back brace of my computer desk isn't a great perch! lol She also perches on the toilet lid, (gotta remember the lid MUST be down at all times, unless in use) the bathtub, chairs, the bed, the tv table, and all my shelves that have unicorns on them! She is a goof! Just about the only places she doesn't perch are the windowsills! I really don't know what I did with all my time before I got her! I must have been very bored, that's for sure!

At 42.5 kms, China opens the world's longest sea Bridge, the Qingdao-Haiwan road bridge.

Watch how no one uses it/it is later found to have significant structural issues. Though there is some shipping there so probably not totally terrible.

read an article somewhere that claimed it only saved drivers about 20 minutes on their commute, but after looking at that top down pic, I'm curious how honest that claim was.

Could be that the region has developed without road transport between those two peninsulas, so no one is actually commuting across it.

Our judicial system punishes crimes involving the threat/use of violence much more seriously. Plus these are two different court systems trying two different crimes.

My picture. Traveled a bit and found a good spot for Amerika's 4th of July fireworks.

    Nice.
They don't turn the street lights off for fireworks over there?

    BTW, wrong photo thread

Yeah. Nobody got hurt, he didn't actually have a weapon, he turned himself in and he only got $100 anyway.

That surely warrants a 15 years sentence.

Indeed, surely this why there are descretionary powers written into sentencing laws....so judges aren't forced to be fucking idiots.

They didn't because there were hundreds of thousands of people lined-up by the highway. They needed the lights for crowd control I suppose. Plus the city is really always lit-up somehow.

I don't think my photo was good enough to go into the "good" photo thread.

The amount and whether someone got hurt doesn't matter. You should know as well as anyone that the threat of violent force changes the sentencing game. I agree 15 years is stupid, but it's not hard to see how this guy got bumped-up into a different category of felony charges.

To the people whom he robbed and threatened to kill, it certainly wasn't the ho-hum case it looks like from our perspective.

Sure, but I also imagine that people in the $3 billion scheme lost a bit more than $100 each, and their lives have been affected worse than the person robbed.

Indeedy. But a scam doesn't involve the threat of violence, so legally it's a different thing. Plus each person was tried by two separate courts according to two sets of laws.

    Fraud isn't criminal law now?

At least in Germany, both these cases would be subject to the StGB, which is criminal law.

Which, by the way, are subject to almost the same ranges of punishment. Aggravated robbery - up to 10 years. Aggravated fraud - up to 10 years.

it's always great at the Zürifäscht (Zürich-Party) when they shut down all the public lights and all the lights of the funfair attractions for the fireworks. It would be funny if they would shur down private lights too

Fair enough, images of fireworks are a little bit pointless anyway IMO

The image still doesn't get the essence of the motive (size, dynamics, power).

    Director: Michael Blieden
    Producer: Inman Young
    Producers: Zach Galifianakis, A.D. Miles
    Blieden's notes:
That's right, we blew the shit out of a mobile home in Shreveport, Louisiana. This image has not been photoshopped at all, so yes A.D. Miles was really on fire. Zach totally kept his cool, and the camera you see in the center of the frame was shooting slow motion. We only had one take to get this right and as you can see there were a lot of elements to coordinate. But it worked out somehow and the shot we got was awesome! Many thanks to UPM Josh Throne who took this photo while the rest of us were shitting in our pants.
This project began as a small presentation that Zach and A.D. wanted to shoot during the first part of '07. Then they pitched it to Comedy Central and the whole thing got a lot bigger. This is by far the most complex and ambitious thing I've directed to date. As always, Inman Young was in stellar form wrangling not only some kickass pyro, but also car chases, an evil tow truck, racing lawnmowers, a crossbow, and 200 chickens.

We'll know in the next month or so if we'll be making more episodes. Stay tuned.
