Thread: Post your feature/change requests here -- let's consolidate it!

  1. #421
So apparently, when I do a search on the forum and the returns take up more than one page, I can't navigate to them. I click next page, or one of the numbers, and it just does a refresh.

I reported that in the last forum upgrade thread and no one said anything

but I'll add a new one to the list as well. When you are viewing the "whats new" page and then log in, it sends you to an error "sorry, no matches" page.

I saw it, just haven't gotten around to screwing with it yet. I'll make some time soon to try to fix all the remaining issues (the search thing, the smilie box, and some lingering color choice issues).

I think Wraith needs a larger allowance for his private messages if he's never going to delete any.

This feature request should be implemented fairly soon.
We're stuck in a bloody snowglobe.

Is there any way we can get the "insert link" function in the post processing bar to change to one working like the old URL function? Or add a Wrap button for URL tags the way we do for Code and PHP? I don't like posting bare URL, they're usually not very informative and they definitely take up too much space, but I can never remember how to format the tags to make a text hyperlink in here. With the consequence that I just don't provide links unless someone who does know how to format them posted recently in the thread allowing me to just use some copy and paste.

I'll look into this, but I might not get to it for a while. It actually shouldn't be too hard, but I don't have very much free time these days. Feel free to hassle me until it gets done.

For doing it manually, the usage is [url="ADDRESS HERE"]what you want it to be displayed as{/url]

Except, obviously, fix that closing tag.

You can also quote this post and click the source mode button to see how I did it here

Can't seem to edit posts...the toolbar buttons get all stacked and I can't push any of the Submit/Cancel buttons. They just don't respond.

  9. #429
    ctrl+refresh.

Sounds like you may have gotten in before I updated the styles.

edit: I edited the post just above yours multiple times, so I'm pretty sure this works.

Still not working on my end (Chrome on MacOS). Here's what I see when I edit posts:

    None of the buttons work.

  11. #431
Oh. Because you're using default. Right. Haven't gotten that one in yet. Only the styles that real people use. I'll do that one now.

Do we actually have stats about who uses what theme?

Does it matter? Some use Dark, some use classic Atari, Lolli uses her eye-searing black, gray, and purple, and that's all we need to be concerned about right? :P

I know, I just wish we could have some stats and maybe cut a theme or two to save Wraith time.

All themes are used, but not all the time. We only have four non-mobile themes, and the only one that isn't really used is Violet Vision, but that was made specifically for Lolli, so cutting it is a no go...
    . . .

I know of at least 5 people who use the violet theme, or did at one point. I actually know of more people who use that one than the dark vision one it's based on. It wasn't made specifically for lolli, it was made because several people wanted a more girly theme like one we had when we were on phpBB. It also shares most of its code with dark vision, so it's very cheap to maintain.

Has vBulletin ever explained why they like to introduce new css in almost every version that messes up the use of custom css, so that you're almost totally reliant on using their crap theme maker, instead of being able to do original stuff and expect it to not be messed up in every update...

vBulletin - "Wow, look at all the wonderful themes that the users of our product have created...lets shit all over them with each update. DEFAULT FOR LIFE!"

Yeah, some fuckers drawn borders round everything on the classic theme. Deal with it, people.

Well, I saw it when I posted that. Now I'm on mobile, and about to get drunk, so I can't check for at least 16 hours or so.

There's still a big gay drop-shadow behind the forum list on the index page.

It only appears in Opera. Looking into it.

    Also, Opera loads elements funny.

    Code:
      box-shadow: 0 1px rgba(255,255,255,0.5),
                  inset 0 1px 1px #fff;
I'd wager the other browsers only support this with a propriety extension

I found the bit responsible in Opera's source browser (holy shit that thing is awesome. Fuck me, I think I just switched browsers), I'm just having trouble finding it in the code. The VB crew loves their indirection and has no idea how to organize things.
