Well screw you, Internal Revenue Service
So the IRS just recently bought a computer and they put it to work comparing 1099s submitted from stock brokerages with declared dividend income.
It turns out my accountant forgot to declare any dividend income from the year I bought my apartment. So I legitimately owe a few hundred dollars.
Fine, that's fair. So now I'm sitting here writing the check and filling-out the IRS form stating that they are right and I will pay. But the form. Doesn't. Fit. In. The envelope they provided.
This is some kind of dystopian government nightmare. I want to pay the taxes I owe, but the fracking piece of paper they asked me to fill out won't fit in the envelope they provided.
WTF.
