Website Hosting Services
I'm hoping and wondering if any of you have had any experience with the various web hosting services available, as I am almost (thankfully and hopefully) done with my portfolio website and I'm shopping around for one. I've been using Go Daddy for quite some time now (in fact all of my domains are registered through them), however, in the folly of my younger less knowledgeable days I opted to go with a Windows based server for their hosting plan, where-as now I need a Linux based solution. Their services have been good, however their control panel is an atrocious mess, and I'm unsure of how good, easy to use, and in depth their Linux hosting solutions are. I've also been looking at Dreamhost, however I have no experience with them either.
Most hosting services I've looked at seem to offer similar sets of benefits, and services as those two. So, what do you guys with experience think? I've read and seen a few reviews, but its pretty difficult to decide when the reviewers either think a host is really good, or hated their original host and switched to someone else...who happens to be a host everyone else loves. If it helps at all, speed, up-time, and granularity of control would be big pluses for me, as I'd be using this site to show some pretty image heavy pages in order to get a job, so I'd like it to be available as much as possible with as little waiting for images to load as possible.
Thanks in advance...
