    Default Need Help with classwork

    Howdy all... I have a question in my homework from my networking class, and I can't figure out the answer..... can any of you guys help? I'm totally lost as the answer isn't in our test, and I can't find anything via Wiki or Google.

    Question:

    The data rate of 100BaseT is 100Mbps . How long does it take to create the smallest frame? Show your calculation.

    Thanks... I hate asking for help but I'm lost.

    Since the smallest frame size is 64bytes (14 bytes header, 4 bytes checksum, 46bytes data) or 512bits, I'd naively assume that the frame assembly time would be 512bit / 100,000,000bit/s = 5,12E-6s or 5,12μs.
