"Accused anti-Semitic slapper Tiffany Harris was arraigned on felony hate crimes charges Monday in Brooklyn Supreme Court — but it still wasn’t enough to hold her.
Harris, 30, who is charged with two unprovoked attacks against Jewish women in December following back-to-back busts, pleaded not guilty to the new raps and was then cut loose once again because even the elevated charges don’t qualify for bail under the state’s new laws.
Brooklyn Assistant District Attorney Peter Choi acknowledged that fact in court Monday.
“That is really the only reason we will not be seeking bail,” Choi told Justice Danny Chun.
Chun could only warn the accused serial slapper that she’d better show up for her next court appearance.
“This case will proceed without you,” Chun said. “Do you understand?”
“Yes,” Harris replied.
“If you repeatedly don’t appear for court, I can issue a warrant for your arrest. Do you understand?”
“Yes,” she said.
The oft-arrested Brooklyn resident has become a symbol of the state’s controversial bail reform law, which bars judges from setting bail on most misdemeanors and some felonies.
She first made headlines when she was arrested Dec. 27 for allegedly slapping three Jewish women in Crown Heights and yelling, “F–k you, Jews.”
She was released without bail the next day and, on Dec. 29, was arrested again, this time for allegedly attacking another woman in Prospect Heights — and was again released without bail."
I have no words for how utterly ridiculous New York is.
