Thread: An observation and a question.

Default An observation and a question.

1.) vase: Vahze or veyse? Never mind the definitional pronunciation; how would you say it in English or (an)other language(s) of your choice(s)? I am aware that "vase" is not an English word, which is why I ask how you would say it in a specific language. For example, I say it different in English (veyse) vs. Russian (vahze), for instance.

2.) It has come to my attention that an 8-month old baby snapper has a bigger attention span than most human American children. (up to and including 17 years old)

    3) Sorry about the turtle being so grainy btw. My camera blows-- it is from about 5 years ago I think? It's a Coolpix L5 (edit: IT IS L5). SOOOOOOO.... any suggestions on a sub-$400 camera?

I'll pronounce it either way, unlike stuck-up people who insist on putting "u"s in all sorts of places they don't belong.
Last night as I lay in bed, looking up at the stars, I thought, “Where the hell is my ceiling?"

    Added another question.

Is there a way to add a poll after I already posted?

I pronounce it both ways, stressing the a differently depending on what I'm referring to, and what crowd I'm in. Same for Porsche. Oddly enough, the way they pronounce Jaguar in the commercials drives me nuts.

As in; jag-WARR (USA) or jag-YOO-ah (UK?)?

The most painful thing to my ears was hearing Patrick Stewart, of classically-trained, perfectly accented and clipped English fame, prounounce Jaguar Jag-warr, on an episode of Top Gear.

From about 6 minutes in ...
