In the future, the Berlin wall will be a mile high, and made of steel. You too will be made to crawl, to lick children's blood from jackboots. There will be no creativity, only productivity. Instead of love there will be fear and distrust, instead of surrender there will be submission. Contact will be replaced with isolation, and joy with shame. Hope will cease to exist as a concept. The Earth will be covered with steel and concrete. There will be an electronic policeman in every head. Your children will be born in chains, live only to serve, and die in anguish and ignorance.
The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference.
Yeah, civility is totally unheard of by the Tea Party and solely the Provence of the ALF-CIO.
Welcome back BTW.

I have no idea what that acronym stands for, but I'm sure it's something awful. I was just joshing about your political climate.

Brevior saltare cum deformibus viris est vita
Sorry, I deleted my message as it was wholly inappropriate in a discussion about Britons viewing porn![]()

"In a field where an overlooked bug could cost millions, you want people who will speak their minds, even if they’re sometimes obnoxious about it."
Blue Doritos are Cool Original. Wasn't aware they were supposed to taste like ranch dressing but now that you mention it I do see a bit of a similarity.
On topic, just read this satiricial story published over a year ago but still very amusing.
Totally inept losers confident they can lock down the internet
Coming back on topic this news story shows why I dislike filters and why if need be I will opt-out of having a filter.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-23680689
That's a daily problem with our filter at work. The malware/scamware/porn sites we block only last until they get universally black listed. then some poor unknowing group comes in and ends up with their IP address or somesort and can't figure out why their boyscout webpage is blocked under "sexual material". We recently switched to Barracuda, but its just as shit as the previous filter.
The filter your Sky provider uses is so shit that it blocks sites that blocked sites redirect to. EZTV.it was able to trick Sky's filter into blocking news websites by adding them to their DNS.

When I first saw this in the news it seemed a relatively simple distraction story. I still think thats the most likely case. Of course, they could request that all ISP's block pornographic material. And obviously governments love making laws that let them control the populace (especially if its helps "think of the children") but its surely not going to pass a vote of all the commons and the lords (who all watch porn).
Is there even any solid proof that porn is bad for people? How much worse is it than seeing violence?
I saw an article recently that said porn was bad because it made young girls think that shaving their ladyparts was normal and pubic hair was horrible. But I and most other men have seen a metric fuckton of porn in their lives and yet its not that common that young men think its a good idea to get circumcised, shave their balls and get shitty tribal tattoos. Anecdotal, but seems to me there might be more than the great evil of porn here...
"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink, because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl.
All the porn these days is coming out of California and Eastern Europe, so I think future generations will be uncircumcised, bone-skinny with earrings.
florida is a huge porn hub. hell, bangbus was born here.

never heard of that, googled it

As a porn-addict and occasional sex-ed er instructor i find this discussion bizarre
"One day, we shall die. All the other days, we shall live."
Hi, Spawnie! Couple of comments/questions. What percentage of your Commons/Lords are women "who all watch porn"? Isn't that a strange way to complain about predominantly male legislatures passing laws "for the children"?
I also think you're underestimating the gender and cultural aspects of porn. There's more than one article, survey, or study....showing that young women who've watched porn are often focused on the female, as an example of what men consider "sexy", so they can imitate that behavior. Young women aren't using porn like young men are, or for the same reasons.
Same here
GGT, are you implying men don't care about children?
Anyway, if that's the reasoning then surely we should also ban things like Cosmo, right?Because if it's about pushing young girls to shave their ladyparts or become thin etc., they sure advocate that as well.
Keep on keepin' the beat alive!
SourceHusbands who secretly watch Internet porn will have to confess to their wives when new family filters come in, UK Prime Minister David Cameron says.
From next year people will have to opt in if they want their Internet service provider to allow them access to pornography at home.
Asked by BBC Radio what that would mean for those who may access such content without their partner knowing, Mr Cameron said they were "going to have to have a discussion" about their surfing habits.
President Barack Obama is closely watching Britain's moves to block abusive images from being seen, and to track down those responsible for making them.
Google and Microsoft today bowed to pressure to rewrite their software to block 100,000 search terms used by pedophiles to access illegal material.
Discussion of porn between spouses is definitely something the government should take an interest in.
Next British move: force spouses to only tell the truth to each other and to buy presents for one another at least once a month. Both punishable by death.
Hope is the denial of reality
