Do you mean me? (you didn't quote me) Yes, I'm sure I did. Maybe it was in a related thread? Sexual Offender Laws, with links to State and Federal laws.

I know I posted that link in this forum recently.

How about I just link you to www.google.com next time you ask for evidence over anything?

Several states (Florida just passed theirs) have had to rewrite laws around this because sexting was creating to many underage registered sex offenders.

These are incredibly useful insights in the context of a discussion over whether 14-year-olds should be allowed to have sex with 19-year-olds.

What's wrong with that link? It has "age analysis" of state and federal US sex laws, the Protect Act of 2003, and the Walsh Act of 2006, Megan's Law and info on sex registries. It doesn't have the marriage ages, but that was posted somewhere here, too.

You made a specific claim. You refused to provide evidence for that claim other than to provide a cite that might have the answers.

Because I don't feel like re-writing it all again and being redundant. Probably find it in the 'Did he or didn't he' thread, regarding criminalizing child sex play. Deal with it.

On the other hand, you're welcome to cite a source or expert supporting your opinion.

For you to write something again, you'd have to have written it a first time...

So sorry for not keeping track of my posts and threads. "Peers" would be those within age-ranges normally found in middle-junior-high school. States use close-in-age or age-gap exemptions for deciding when sex is legal/consensual or not. The previous age-gap used to be five years, but was changed to four a few years ago. No idea why.

(We had a debate about this at Atari. I remember Cain had been a 15 yr old college student...."illegally" boffing fellow 21 yr old coeds. I was a 17 yr old college freshman, but today it would be "illegal" for me to have a 22 yr old boyfriend? :rolleyes )

State laws allow marriage to void those laws, and yes---you can be married at age 14 in some states (with applicable waivers or consents).

The US is all over the place on age of consent, exemptions, exclusions. More complicated than necessary, if you ask me.

note mentions of 12-13-14 yr olds
